Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Over The Top (OTT) platforms represent a streaming service offered directly through the internet, bypassing the cable or satellite televisions that traditionally offer such services. The video on demand (VoD) feature allows the viewer to view content multimedia where and when you want. Innovative applications offer via streaming solutions internet, disintermediating the supply chain. Internet access for smartphones, tablets and others devices is facilitated by mobile app profiled. Social media contributes to the virality of content multimedia. The analysis of the innovative business model of the platforms is a prerequisite for the valuation, which incorporates digital scalability options, typical of non-rival intangible assets. There valuation depends on the prior identification of the value drivers to which the flows are connected economic and financial, and the strategic positioning of the platform within the ecosystem multimedia. The valuation methods are based primarily on forecast cash flows and on comparable transactions.
