Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] This monograph studies the dissemination of Spanish culture and literature from the Golden Age in the city of Milan in the 17th century through the editorial and typographic production of Giovanni Battista Bidelli, one of the most important Milanese printers of the time. The analysis of Bidelli's professional career reveals that, through his constant activity throughout the first half of the 17th century, the printer favored the circulation in Milanese not only of masterpieces of golden Spanish literature, but also of editions of religious and political-military arguments closely linked to Spain. In addition to including the presentation of the Bidellian editorial repertoire of Iberian themes, this text incorporates the data that the examination of the production of the Milanese printer provides when it comes to understanding the extraordinary role that Bidelli had in the environment of the printing press and the book market. in the State of Milan, with the aim of also understanding the configuration of the broad cultural universe of one of the most relevant Italian territories of the Spanish Crown at the time.
