Abstract

Drawing on the criticisms that have been raised over time by the literature, we conducted an assessment of the state-of-the-art of cross-cultural management research by focusing on the fields of management strategy and organisational studies. To this end, 280 articles in management strategy and organisation studies were extensively reviewed. Meta-synthesis was the methodological approach adopted. Our work provides a critical analysis of the most recent trends in cross-cultural research management from a multi-disciplinary perspective. The implications for a broader dialogue between the concomitant perspectives within cross-cultural management and directions for future research are also discussed.
