Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The art galleries sector is a little studied sector, but interesting for the changes that are taking place there. This article analyzes the business models of the Italian galleries of modern and contemporary art more oriented towards growth, highlighting their characterizing elements. The analysis shows that there are two business models: that of large galleries with offices abroad and that of growing, but small, galleries, which differ from the other smaller ones substantially by greater international orientation, one more strong propensity for online sales, a more intense use of social networks and inter-company agreements.
