Abstract
Creating competences in the workers means promoting knowledge and technical skills, but above all attitudes of openness towards novelty, willingness to lifelong learning, the assumption of autonomous initiatives, responsibility and flexibility. In this regard, the training that the air transport sector needs to build is based on the centrality of its operators, seen as those who, faced with situations and problems, bring into play what they know (technical knowledge), what they know how to do (behaviour, practices in line with procedures), what characterises them (personality traits).
