[Autom. eng. transl.] Undoubtedly, training in the social sphere today represents not only a delicate task, but also an important challenge that calls into play both different disciplines and ethical and deontological responsibilities. In this article a reflection is proposed on the topic of training of social workers of the future with reference to the model of the Catholic University, which for several years has been inspired by the principles of Relational Social Work. As suggested by this theoretical and methodological approach, faced with the complexity and multidisciplinarity of the profession, the skills and competences required and necessary for a social worker should rest on the cardinal principle of full reciprocity. Reciprocity that refers to the relationships between students, teachers, users and social workers. In the field of training, the relational approach enlightens us in resizing the idea of training based on a process of instillation in the subject of a series of technical skills, promoting instead an active will in students and social workers already engaged in the field of inner growth.
