Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] In this paper we present an exploratory research on the representation of the concept of respect according to young adolescents. A sample of 717 Italian boys, aged between 15 and 22, was asked to write a short "Tweet" message to answer the question "What is respect for me?" From the analysis of the messages received, it emerges how respect brings with it a polysemy of meanings that make its interpretation complex and is seen mainly as a relational mode through which the young person opens up to the other, accepts it and avoids judgment, without considering however the dimension of fatigue that the relationship with diversity brings with it. Implications that can be useful for the work of teachers and educators are discussed.
