Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] «We have to speak as we think and write as we speak: this is the secret of art. But you need to think well and speak well. " So argued over fifty years ago Dino Provenzal today admirably studied by Margherita Borghi who confirms the topicality of the "verb", the irony and the sometimes humorous use in the narration - now found in very few authors - as well as the purity of the language and of thought, characteristics which have become increasingly impossible to find in contemporary writings. Provenzal was born in Livorno in 1877 and died almost centenary in Voghera. He dedicated his life to teaching and spreading reading. His production of texts was exterminated and the critical study of Margherita Borghi, in addition to bringing the right light on a "lateral" author, perhaps forgotten, will certainly be a stimulus for the publishing world ready to grasp the topicality, freshness and Provenzal's “good pen” for new editions of his works.
