Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The purpose of this book is to show the surprising congruence between Lacan's teaching and the Taoist philosophers, as it is emblematically embodied in Shitao's painting and poetry. The typically Taoist theme of emptiness as a condition of the becoming of the world and as an operative place in which painting takes place is taken literally by Lacan: throughout his teaching, the French psychoanalyst will do nothing but insist on the question of the "hole in knowledge" , that is, on the fact that the human subject, to identify himself, must stand on the absence of ultimate guarantees.
