Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The volume contains the interpretative transcription, the philological, codicological and linguistic commentary of the code L.II.17 of the Queriniana Library of Brescia, which preserves the only sixteenth-century copy of the Rule accompanied by the Office of Lent of the Breno disciplines. The text, known to scholars but published in a not very rigorous way, is accompanied by a historical-dramaturgical study that reconstructs the history of the Brenese confraternity, and which exhaustively analyzes the genesis and the performative modalities of the paraliturgies of the fraglia, inserting them in the most wide view of the liturgies of Holy Week. The work is completed by a codicological-bibliographic summary of the attestations of each of the lauds that make up the Officio in manuscripts (laudari, instrumental, liturgical offices) within the confraternity ambit.
