Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] the present study focuses attention on a specific type of volunteering both in terms of the object and in terms of the amount of time devoted to this activity. In fact, at the center of the analysis there is the voluntary service aimed at the person in need, and that implies a direct contact with it for at least 4 hours a week or 20 days a year. Through the comparison between a group of young volunteers (experimental group) and a homogeneous group of young volunteers (control group), the present research, of an exploratory nature, proposes the following objectives: 1). study the relationships between voluntary action and some individual variables such as self-esteem, empathy and prosocial behavior (individual and organizational); 2). to note the relationship between quality of communication (openness and problematic) and support in the relationship between parents and children and voluntary commitment 3). to detect the correlations of the aforementioned individual variables among themselves and with the aforementioned relational variables (communication and parent-child support) 4) to investigate the reasons for the voluntary commitment of young people. the data from this research show a complex picture of the young volunteer, his family relationships and the effects of voluntary work.
