Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Feyerabend, in addition to questioning the notion of rationality as a guarantee of objective knowledge, emphasized the
complexity of reality that also reverberates on knowledge: knowledge is complex, because reality is
complex. This contribution intends to argue that the two issues, conception of rationality and recognition of complexity, are closely connected, since the complexity of reality is such that it cannot be unraveled by reason, at least not as it was understood by much of Western rationalism. Hence the need
to elaborate an epistemology that recognizes this complexity, rather than ignores it.
