Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Competitiveness and cohesion can be traced back to the need to assert itself in the group as a subject distinct from the others, and to the need to be part of a unit and have been correlated with sports performance. In team sports and individual sports there is a tendency to give more weight to one or the other variable, while in sports where teammates are rivals in individual competitions, both play a central role. The study aims to investigate the levels of competitiveness, cohesion and conflict in seven teams (No. 54) with multiple equipment, to identify differences in scores with respect to structural variables and possible correlations between the variables of interest. The tools used are: SOQ for competitiveness, GEQ for cohesion, ROCI I and II for conflict, perceived performance scale to investigate the perception of one's own performance on a Likert scale, and the scores obtained by the teams for the next competition were also measured to the administration. From the results it emerges that adult athletes, those who have been in the team for the longest time and female athletes who perform both individual and group competitions report significantly different levels compared to their companions in some of the variables investigated. A negative correlation also emerged between perceived performance and conflict. Since multiple equipment sports have special characteristics, particular attention must be given to group dynamics, which can affect not only team performances, but also individual ones.
