Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Today the family is considered a burden on the economy as it constrains the work and mobility decisions of its members, prevents women from achieving work, weighs on women and stresses women, condemns people to social immobility , obliges the State and companies to take legislative measures and measures capable of supporting family-work reconciliation, reduces the business reality to family businesses, which cause growing economic instability, due to the exhaustion of the family business lines , due to the rarefaction of parental networks. The economic world therefore seems to remember the family only in terms of consumption; it is actually little known and recognized in its capacity and activity as a regulating subject and market structuring agent. Starting from these provocative elements, the objective of this contribution is to answer a fundamental question: how is the family-work relationship really connoted? This question will be subject to verification of the following analysis. Starting from an in-depth analysis of international literature, hypotheses, methodology and main results of a large quantitative survey conducted in Italy in 2011 will be illustrated.
