Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The experience of the Committee for Relations with Developing Countries, issued by the Faculty of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences of the Catholic University of Piacenza is briefly presented and interpreted in its action modalities carried out in the various rural development projects . The main teachings are extracted, which can be summarized as follows: - solidarity cooperation and the synergy between integral humanism and technology constitute the bases of progress under the banner of agro-ecological, environmental and social sustainability; - no vocational discernment can be accomplished outside the practice of living, of the "ora et labora", that is, in the daily work of caring and in the laborious waiting for the fruits of the earth and of others and their own maturation.
