Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The involvement of stakeholders in the governance of public administrations plays a fundamental role both as a means of comparison with citizens, the environment, suppliers and employees with a view to the social responsibility of the public administration and as a solution to face the new challenges that characterize them more effectively. no the public sector. In this perspective, this chapter highlights how stakeholder involvement can be interpreted as a real company function and requires adequate managerial processes, tools and skills. Therefore, the concept of stakeholder engagement cycle is introduced and some different areas are proposed (co-decision making, co-delivery, co-auditing) in which stakeholders can be involved. Finally, the generative potential inherent in the encounter between management and stakeholders that can contribute - in particular in this time of crisis - to the co-generation of new shared value, is highlighted.
