Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Social Cognition and family relationships: what unites this classic approach and a traditional subject of social psychology? Much more than you might think. This volume attempts to show the values and meanings of this union still in its early stages. Through the analysis of some crucial constructs for both parties involved - ideas and parental beliefs, attribution of responsibility, marital conflict - the authors offer a vision of integration between social cognition and family relationships. To accomplish this work means looking not only to commonalities but also to divergences to highlight the heuristic values of both and their value for the knowledge of a complex reality such as the family in contemporary society. In the volume the theoretical in-depth analysis of the topics dealt with is accompanied by a particular attention and care for research tools and strategies: each theoretical chapter is followed by a chapter of presentation of a research work particularly interested in the adopted methodology. The volume is aimed at all those interested in deepening the study of family relationships and social cognition and to explore the new horizons that the encounter between these two fields of study offers.
