Cittadinanza e territorio. Una prospettiva storica

[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution deals with the territory as a common good, as a heritage of "collective memory" which must be safeguarded collectively and rendered inalienable so that it can be inherited by subsequent generations. The current massive use of the network forces us to rethink the narrative of history to try to counter the siege of the present in which we are immersed, which is breaking up both our collective memories, and our belonging to our place of origin and a community, thus weakening the responsibility of society towards future generations. To counteract these processes the author proposes to recover those historical traces present in the space in which we live that are able to stimulate our senses, in particular material goods, maps, documents, which allow us to experience the presence of the past in our present, because the conceptual path and the abstract historical narrative are no longer sufficient. The school can play an essential role in this sense because it is one of the key places in which citizenship is built, but it is necessary to adapt its contents, and not only the methods and tools, to the rapid contemporary changes.
