Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Starting from the Sino-US diplomatic tensions that occurred after the election of Donald J. Trump as president of the United States, the chapter analyzes the policies that the new Republican administration has tried to set up to build, starting from Asia-Pacific, a new one architecture of global governance such as to allow Washington to manage the profound transformations taking place in the international system. A path that is read in substantial continuity with respect to the positions of the previous US diplomatic lines must be inserted in the framework of the debate - developed since 1991 - relating to the so-called Rise of China and the growing political and economic dynamism of Asian players on the international scene.
