Chinatown Today: Schizophrenies of Italian Multicultural Publishing

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

Drawing from an exploration of the evolution of the social representations of Chinese migrants in Italy (which has seen a wosening from a positive to a negative stereotype since the late-1990s), and after assessing the current (as of the late-2000s) state of intercultural publishing in Italy involving Chinese migrants, the chapter investigates the case study of "Chinatown Today", a webseries produced by an Italian media conglomerate but presented as coming from (and representing) the "Chinese migrant voice".
