Abstract

The paper aims to propose a pedagogical interpretation of the relationship between childhood and architecture, inquiring how to approach space in accordance with children's needs (plying, moving, exploring, touching). In particular the paper presents a selection of methods inspired by Maria Montessori thought.This approach attributes great value to the sensorial quality of spaces and motor activity, through the integration of mind and body.
