Abstract
The celebrations of the incoming of the elected Archbishops into Milan during the full heart of ‘600 give us the opportunity to analyze the centrality of the virtue of charity as a cornerstone of the ideal image of Shepherd, to whom the scenery of the big civic ceremonials intended to refer, showing its cultural roots and foundation in a widely shared ethical tradition, by which the vocation to the common government by the men of Ancient Regime society has been nourished.
