Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The activity of Cesare Cesariano is reconstructed during his stay in Reggio Emilia, preceded by the Milanese formation and the Ferrarese and Polironian passages. In particular the decoration with Men of arms on the façade of Palazzo Fossa and the Baptism in the baptistery of the cathedral of Reggio are dealt with. Other decorative episodes are presented, in religious and secular contexts of the city. The problem of the restructuring of the cathedral and the commissions of Bishop Arlotti is also addressed.
