Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The present study aims to analyze the economic and power dynamics that occur around publishing by analyzing the letters kept by Carlos Barral and the literary agent Erich Linder. These archival documents testify to the interest that both publishers had in translating their respective works into other languages, but, at the same time, they testify to the problems that the world of Spanish publishing had to overcome when it came to obtaining a title or authorization. censorship and also the consequences that these problems had on personal and business relationships. The study of these documents allows us to sketch some interesting conclusions when taking into account the development of Spanish-language literature in translation
