Abstract

The treatise illustrates the thought of Sebastiano Casteillon, famous opponent to Calvin and his doctrine of predestination. The ground of his doctrine of religious tolerance is the conviction that human beings are created by God as free and thus that nobody can be persecuted or killed for his faith. Charity is invoked as the only principle that can settle the disputes and bring about peace among human beings.
