Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The founding of the Napoleonic Empire was accompanied, both in France and in the Italian departments, by the marked accentuation of the traits that were intended to weave the praise of power and the figure of Bonaparte within public celebrations. The evolution of political celebrations in moments aimed at the glorification of the Corsican hero, already discernible in the measures that were launched in this area in the aftermath of the proclamation of the Consulate for life, found in fact in the Italian Republic administered by Vice-President Francesco Melzi d'Eril ( 1802-1805) and in the Kingdom of Italy of Viceroy Eugene of Beauharnais (1805-1814), a considerable development, also on the basis of the intentions that the government authorities advanced in order to fuel the spread of consent towards Napoleon in the context local. As it was intended to highlight in the present work, this phenomenon, not without significant consequences for the formation of the Napoleonic myth in Italy, found clear expression in the Rubicone department, where the provisions introduced by the Napoleonic regime on holidays and aimed at establishing Bonaparte's membership knew a particular respect also by virtue of the active involvement of the prefect and local administrators.
