[Autom. eng. transl.] Even in the extra-curricular sector, the educational commitment of Catholics, of national unity in the 1950s, was remarkably rich in proposals. Among these, speakers and youth associations are of particular importance. The former have prevailed in various dioceses of the North and, above all thanks to some religious Congregations, in various other centers in the country. They have been a training ground for a large number of children and young people. For their part, the youth associations, starting from those of Catholic Action, have provided a special impulse to Christian and civil education of youth. The story of these aggregative experiences constitutes a relevant page in the history tout court of young Italians. The volume offers a series of historical-educational explorations, which focus on a plurality of events, itineraries and pedagogical models, considered in the broader context of the socio-cultural and ecclesial contexts of reference. The result is a vast and articulated panorama, able to provide a significant contribution of knowledge to the complex history of Catholic education of the nineteenth-twentieth century.
