Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution presents authors and texts elaborated in northern Italy at the time of Charles IV's descent into Italy, with specific reference to those authors who came into contact with the imperial court and in some cases directly followed the path that led the sovereign to his coronation. Particularly relevant is the figure of Andrea Painelli da Goito, a friend of Petrarch, and author of a commentary on Lucan's Bellum Civil, partially written following the imperial procession, as evidenced by the topographical and chronological indications contained therein.
