Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] From the early 1950s, the development and the fortune of the "sign" of Capogrossi were also accompanied by an increasingly more varied and varied application on the part of the artist, in relation to the world of architecture, manufacturing and industry: tiles, ceramic plates, mosaics, tapestries, scarves, jewels (a vast and largely unexplored material), and moreover mural decoration and larger scale interventions, which we could almost define environmental, abundantly dot the last four decades of the existence of Capogrossi. Which thus becomes one of the protagonists of that new idea of Italian Style that characterizes the boom years, during which Italy became the arbiter of undisputed elegance and beauty, a master of international taste. And the "sign" of Capogrossi thus becomes a "brand".
