Capire l’immigrazione oltre le Fake news. Note a margine dei percorsi formativi e informativi del CIRMiB a Brescia

Immigration is one of the most debated topics within public and mass media spaces. However, the low degree of reflexivity on the issue of the means of communication and their crisis of credibility seem to generate a new and unexpected demand for knowledge at the territorial level, with the request of reliable intermediaries able to help in reading the current context and to support action in operational contexts. This paper reflecting on the origin of these training/information requests and describes two emblematic experiences of the activity promoted by CIRMiB (Centre of Initiatives and Research on Migration- Catholic University of the Sacred Hearth – Brescia Campus) in the Brescia context. In the first, reference is made to the structuring and conduct of a training course set up by the Prefecture of Brescia as part of the Fami project “Benvenuti Cittadini Italiani – I nostri diritti, I nostri doveri 2017-2019”. In the second one, reference is made to the numerous contributions offered by CIRMiB within meetings organized by municipalities and associations. The analysis of the contexts of implementation (eg. partnerships and local networks), the methods of implementation, the level of participation in the training and information proposals, allows us to obtain useful material to identify some critical nodes (eg perceptual distortion, disintermediation) with the which must be measured today who wants to promote training and information at territorial level on immigration issues
