Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The economic policy of the governments that have followed in recent years in Italy has been oriented towards a tax cut accompanied by policies to contain spending as a recipe for restarting economic growth. The direction of travel - supported also by radical reform proposals carried out by private think-tanks - seems therefore to be towards a model of welfare state with less state and a little more market. The article focuses on the options for the organization of social policies, on what other countries are doing, on how to reconcile the vision of an "insurance" welfare with that of a "redistributive" welfare, as well as on the additional constraints to the reform due of a corporate model dated for our country.
