Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The current and general interest in "good practices" is linked to the desire to improve the effectiveness of social policies, making administrators and operators more aware of the variety and different quality of possible interventions to respond to specific needs and allowing more wide sharing of know-how. The research group on the theme of fragile families with minors focused in particular on three areas of study: - families with minors in protection or at risk of being expelled - families where parents are separated / divorced - migrant families. In geographical terms, the research on fragile families with minors focused on two neighboring regions, with similar territorial and social characteristics, but with very different social policies, Lombardy and Piedmont. Research on families with non self-sufficient elderly has instead focused on research and the study of innovative practices in three very different regions: Lombardy, Liguria (a region that shows the highest percentage of the elderly in the total population) and Sicily. A reconnaissance of the Zone Plans made it possible to provide a framework of services for the non self-sufficient elderly and their families in the three Regions, allowing in this way to understand the "philosophy" that generally guides social policies in the studied territories. Subsequently, case studies were carried out on some services considered particularly interesting, which can be traced to two types of intervention: services that operate in a perspective of secondary prevention and services that act in a perspective of support for natural networks (family caregivers, first of all, but not only).
