Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Prison institutions are afflicted in Italy by now chronic diseases: nothing seems capable of subverting a system that can be degrading for prisoners and dysfunctional with respect to the social security demand. The crisis generated by the pandemic requires urgent interventions in penitentiaries, but it can also provide the stimulus, also in light of the experience lived by everyone in an often dramatic moment of isolation and segregation, for a reform of the current punitive models.
