Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Published in Frankfurt in 1981, this work by Blumenberg is destined for the history of an intellectual "topical", in particular the analysis of a particular family of metaphors, the one that develops the image of the world as a book. To the fifteenth-century metaphor of the two books, the Bible, a book called by God, and nature, a book directly written by the divine hand, will then be added to the image of a third book, the all-human one of history.
