Abstract

Analysis of the historical character of Lucius Aemilius Paulus Macedonicus and of the ancient historiographical tradition about him. The analysis is made starting from the methodological remarks developed by Plutarch in the first chapter of the biography devoted to him. These remarks are different from all the other statements of similar argument in the Parallel Lives and they shape a truly agiographic approach to the historical life of the protagonist
