Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The survey shows how the chapel of Santa Maria Maggiore in Bergamo - one of the most important institutions of the Baroque in the Po valley - imposes itself as a significant moment of mediation between East and West in the seventeenth-century Padanian framework. This by virtue of the non-episodic contacts with the most important centers of stylistic irradiation in northern Italy.
