Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The figure of Berardo Maggi, bishop of Brescia (1275-1308) and lord of the Lombard city (1298-1308), is inserted in the broader political-social, religious and historical-critical context of the communal society of late central-northern Italy medieval; attention is given to the many sources that allow us to enlighten the work, the commitment to governance and the renewal action of the ecclesiastical institutions
