Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The essay examines some Benthamian themes. The legal obligation must be established, for Bentham, in view of the collective utility, and everyone has a moral duty to pursue the latter, therefore to make personal interest coincide with respect for the legal obligation means to make personal interest coincide with moral duty, that is to make everyone's interest to do what they must morally do. The role of the moral deontologist is to instruct the agents on how to maximize their utility and the legislator has the task of guiding the subject acting towards his utility. It also exposes the question of the relationship between the most possible equal distribution of goods and overall utility, deals with the possibility for the State to violate individual freedom when this is advantageous for the overall utility and the relationship between psychological egoism, enunciation of truth and meaning of guilt.
