Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] In the confluence of different cultural instances, our time is marked by the contestation, first, and then by the rejection of authority. After all, the history of authority lays the foundations for such outcomes.
But is a society without authority really possible? And what kind of society could emerge from it?
If today it is difficult to find where to anchor authority, it is also true that it continually re-emerges from its ashes, reconstituting itself with more fleeting and indeterminate forms and modalities, but no less problematic than in the past.
Returning to reflect on authority - a term as complex as it is essential - becomes necessary, especially from an intergenerational perspective. Starting from its meaning and its nature, the article outlines a horizon for reopening the link between authority and the intergenerational nexus.
