Attività terminologica e fonti di documentazione ieri e oggi: problemi e metodi

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The analysis of documentary sources is a key reference in the study of a specific domain as well as for the corpus that has been selected for the terms extraction and the construction of a glossary. The contribution intends to investigate this preliminary stage to the realisation of a terminological product, showing the methodological continuity between the past and the present. A glossary of a technical and scientific domain should meet the needs of both specialists and knowledge dissemination and the sources should take into account these different directions of use, confirming the quality and reliability criteria that characterise them. The in-depth study of previous terminological research processes, developed by eighteenth-century specialised dictionaries, will enable the identification of still-valid methodological constants and the drawing of some lines of reference in a foundational activity of terminological research.
