Atti del Convegno La tutela dei minori, Riva del Garda 2012

[Autom. eng. transl.] The volume collects some of the contributions prepared for the International Conference «La tutela dei Minori. Good relational practices ", made in Riva del Garda by Edizioni Erickson in 2012. This is the fourth biennial conference dedicated to the quality of welfare: an opportunity that over time has become an essential reference point for those interested in reflecting on personal services and on social assistance. Not a new fact that this appointment urges to confront the times of crisis, but the last year is perhaps that in which social workers have found themselves having to deal harder with drastic cuts in resources, intervening on a number of cases followed less and less and working constantly in urgency. In the meantime, neglected difficulties that are not heard turn into full-blown emergencies coming to services when a "light" intervention no longer seems viable. This is why, now more than ever, there is a need to modulate new paths by redirecting traditional interventions, rethinking aid in genuinely participatory terms so that social work can finally realize the many unexpressed potentialities. Examples of possible ways to go are recalled precisely by the contributions collected in this volume: from socialization networks to assessment strategies, from family mediation to mentoring, there are reflections and proposals aimed at promoting an idea of assistance and child protection as paths of co-construction, in which the operators do not have the task of imposing solutions or providing answers but of listening to people, sharing their ideas and resources, supporting them in the confidence of being able to improve and accompany them along the path that will be the best for them and more suitable.
