Abstract
Adoptive waiting is a sensitive moment for prospective adoptive parents. The uncertainty that distinguishes this period intersects with some experiences of disappointment and discouragement, derived from the protracted adoption process and the experience of missing matching. The contribution, starting from the narratives of some adoptive parents involved in qualitative research, intends to dwell on the desired or actual resources perceived in the preplacement. It is noted that a fundamental role derives from the support coming from the world of family associations and from the relational ties intertwined with other prospective adoptive parents and adoptive families.
