Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Due to the low rates of vaccination coverage so far achieved by most Italian regions, it is clear that there is a need to rethink or adapt a global strategy against cervical cancer, which is the real goal of health. It is essential to structure a long-term goal-oriented plan (cervical cancer), which involves a battle fought on different fronts (screening, health education, vaccination) and pursued through different tactics (education of mothers, girls, single cohort vaccination, multicoorte, spontaneous or organized cytological screening, HPV-DNA research, etc.). Indeed, to think of gaining control of the disease by fighting only on the vaccination front is an illusory prospect.
