Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The first phases of the construction of the Milan Cathedral reveal a significant integration between architecture and decoration in the context of late-Gothic Europe with respect to a prevailing conception of architectural science: this tension towards the unity of the arts is promoted in particular by Giovannino de Grassi through his design activity and the infinite application possibilities offered by his designs.
