Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Listening is that original educational act that comes before words and allows us to be "on the side" of children. It is not a question of a generic disposition to feel, but of a voluntary act, which reveals a certain way of looking at children, recognizing them as protagonists of their growth paths, in relationship with themselves, with others, with the world. Putting children at the center, valuing them as agents of change and actors in their history, means guaranteeing them the fundamental right to make their voices heard, within relational frameworks in which they can be recognized as active interlocutors. Through a pedagogy of listening, it is possible to discover that behind childish behaviors and words there are skills, opinions, in other words, theories about life and the world.
