Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The chapter presents the different levels at which change in the work context can be perceived and examines how it affects the perceptions of control and belonging of the people involved. To this end, thirty-six interviews are analyzed with people who have experienced a change (positive or negative) in their work context, employed in a variety of occupational sectors. The results indicate that the change is qualified subjectively as "ascent" or "decline": 1) in relation to the predictability and voluntariness of change and to the perception of possessing the necessary skills to manage it; 2) in relation to the way in which the need to enter and feel part of a group is satisfied.
