Artisti e curatori come restauratori?

Abstract

Many works of art from the 1960s and 1970s were more in the nature of propositions, sociological, political, philosophical and theoretical reflections than works of easel art. The artists proposed ideas in visual forms and thus through purely artistic languages, but with means that were new to the art world: video, analogue photography, performance, etc. Hence the major problem inherent in the topic of conservation: the difficulty of re-presenting works today that were largely created with obsolete technical means or in an ephemeral manner. The article aims to investigate this aspect, especially in the light of today's many reenactments of past exhibitions.
