[Autom. eng. transl.] In many places, this time is defined as a time of crisis. It is a crisis of the model of society that took shape in the West in the last decades of the 1900s and then replicated itself around the world with the processes of globalization. The historic watershed moment is in 1989, the year in which the fall of the Berlin Wall occurs and a broad convergence on the market model is achieved. The processes that are triggered later reconfigure the model of economic development as well as collective coexistence, cultural frameworks, subjective experiences. Everything moves according to functional logics that give social and individual life an expansion and acceleration hitherto unheard of, whose setback in 2008 opens and prolongs, over time, a crisis that turns out to be not only financial and economic, but also social, environmental, cultural, anthropological and spiritual.
