Approcci retrospettivi e prospettivi ai luoghi della traduzione

[Autom. eng. transl.] Traductology is a place of investigation in constant expansion and continues to arouse a growing interest among scholars of various disciplines and schools of thought united by a single objective, that of reaching a deeper understanding and understanding of the translation phenomenon in its entirety. This interest has led to an expansion of the studies on translation with the integration of new approaches and perspectives, which have assumed a pluralistic profile. While maintaining the specificity of an autonomous discipline, translation today incorporates a multiplicity of different disciplines and embraces a variety of theoretical, descriptive and applicative approaches, placing itself as a natural focal point and unifying force, so much so that it can be considered a wide-ranging multidiscipline. The widening of the horizons in the field of translation has led to a reconsideration of some traditional concepts and has seen the emergence of new paradigms. In particular, we have moved from a mostly prescriptive and normative orientation to a descriptive and functional methodology. A double vision of translation has therefore been affirmed: one facing the future, and therefore perspective, which aims to draw guidelines to be implemented, and the other retrospective, aimed at describing translation behavior as a phenomenon of intercultural communication contextualized to interior of a well-defined and recognizable historical and socio-cultural environment. The two approaches, applicative and prospective on the one hand, and descriptive and retrospective on the other, place themselves in a relationship of continuous dialogic interaction and constitute the basis for any study that intends to penetrate the places of translation. The main purpose of the present discussion will be to outline the primary aspects of the two approaches to demonstrate their substantial complementarity.
