[Autom. eng. transl.] This volume was born as a tribute to the work of Aldo Grasso who, from the seventies, through research and teaching at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, but also - from the nineties - with the daily 'body at body 'with programs -' the texts' - of Italian television, and its protagonists, taught its students, and the wider public reached by the pages of the Corriere della Sera, a critical and at the same time passionate approach to the firmly central medium in Italian culture of the second half of the twentieth century and, again, of the new century. The book focuses on some relevant issues: how can we critically reflect and research the role of a medium that is as immediate and popular as it is complex in its articulations and relevant from a cultural and social point of view? What perspectives can the historiographical study of television adopt, and to which sources should it resort?
